HAT & SCARF
This is a great cosy hood and scarf all in one. Slips over the head easily, wear as a baggy hood or button under the chin for extra snugness. It is super soft and snuggly and will keep out a cold wind, and even light rain. Especially for the children - cute bear ears, and you can complete the look with bear paws.
SIZING
Sizes - baby to adult. Chunky yarn - knits up fast. 9mm needle for head, 8mm needle for paws - knit in the round or on straight needles. Alternatives offered if you want quick and simple. The baby size can also be used for a doll/teddy if they might like a matching hood!
YARN
This pattern uses chunky yarn so this pattern knits up fast.
NEEDLE SIZE & MATERIALS
Using chunky yarn, we recommend 9mm (US size 13) needles for the main hood pattern and 8mm (US size 9.5) needles for the paws. You will need between 100g/90m and 350g/320m of the main yarn colour depending on the size being made.
This is a really helpful knitting pattern. Not just full instructions on how to knit the item, but also descriptions of how to follow the directions and section of techniques used with pictures and step by step instructions. Great for novice knitters, or if you just need a bit of extra help. But it still works for experienced knitters!
This bear head includes knitting in the round, magic loop technique, 3 needle bind off, moss stitch. All instructions are given, so you can learn these new techniques easily and quickly if you haven't tried them before. Knit flat or in the round.
