HAT & SCARF
This dinosaur hood, is a great cosy hat and scarf all in one. It slips over the head easily, is super soft and snuggly and will keep out a cold wind, and even light rain.  and how fun are the spikes & tail!  
 
SIZING
Instructions are given for six different sizes of dinosaur hood, from baby to adult. The baby size can also be used to fit a doll so your child and their toy can have matching animal heads!
 
YARN
This pattern uses chunky yarn so this pattern knits up fast. 
 
NEEDLE SIZE & MATERIALS
Using chunky yarn, we recommend 9mm (US size 13) needles for the main hood pattern and 6.5mm (US size 10.5) needles for the spikes and tails. You will need between 100g/90m and 350g/320m of the main yarn colour depending on the size being made.  For the spikes and tail, you will need between 50g/45m and 100g/90m of yarn.
 
COLOURS
Choose whichever colours you like! We've gone for traditional dinosaur colours but you could easily turn this into a dragon hood or dragon cowl by using other colours. Perhaps red with orange spikes! One of our customers crocheted hers in light grey with bright pink spikes and tail for her daughter!
 
This is a really helpful knitting pattern.  Not just full instructions on how to knit the item, but also descriptions of how to follow the directions and section of techniques used with pictures and step by step instructions.  Great for novice knitters, or if you just need a bit of extra help.  But it still works for experienced knitters!

Sizes - baby - adult. Chunky yarn - knits up fast. 9mm circular needles - knit in the round.
 
This pattern includes knitting in the round, double moss stitch and i-cords.  All instructions are given, so you can learn these new techniques easily and quickly if you haven't tried them before.
 
Snug and cosy hood - fun spikes and tail.  I designed it with the boys in mind, but I am finding it to be just as (even more) popular with the girls.
